Holder Crates · for $SAPLING holders

$SAPLING Holder Crates

Hold deep. Hold long.

Every eligible wallet holding $SAPLING, the rootstock of sapling.cash, can have a Holder Crate: a potential $SAPLING allocation that grows with the position behind it. More $SAPLING fills it out. More time roots it deeper.

How it grows

Two things grow a Crate.

How much $SAPLING a wallet holds, and how long it has held it. That is the whole idea.

01 Amount held

A larger $SAPLING position means more root mass: more roots, more laterals, a thicker trunk. It is the size of what you have planted.

02 Time held

The longer the position stays, the deeper the roots go and the more rings the cross-section shows. Time is what turns a cutting into a specimen.

Selling shrinks it. Selling or cutting your position back before a snapshot can reduce your Crate. Keep holding and it keeps growing.

These are drawings. The roots in a Crate illustrate a holder position. They are not a coin's ZEC roots, and they hold nothing.

Move the two controls and watch the specimen respond. Amount builds mass. Time builds depth.

Tiers

Five tiers. Copper to Platinum.

A tier classifies a Crate the way a label classifies a herbarium sheet. The metal is the label. The specimen does the talking. Higher tiers correspond to larger potential $SAPLING allocations.

  1. Pl. I

    Copper

Entry-level eligible Crate. A young cutting with a copper tag.

  2. Pl. II

    Bronze

A position beginning to establish itself. Roots reach further down.

  3. Pl. III

    Silver

A committed position with deeper roots, braced corners and a silver label.

  4. Pl. IV

    Gold

A deeper or longer-held position. A mature specimen, banded at the rim.

  5. Pl. V

    Platinum

The deepest, longest-held positions, with the strongest potential allocations.

What it takes to reach each tier comes from the Holder Crates program and is shown with your Crate when you connect. It is not listed here.

Not a coin stage. Seed, Sapling and Orchard are the stages of a coin planted on Sapling. Holder Crate tiers are a separate scale for $SAPLING holders.

Why Crates grow here

Holding is growth, too.

Everything on Sapling is measured over time. Coins are planted, grow up a curve, put down roots and graduate to Orchard. Rings reads the pad's activity like a trunk: one ring per day, core to bark.

$SAPLING is the rootstock: the pad's own coin, which part of the creator fee on every planted coin buys and burns. In a nursery, the rootstock is the established root system everything else is grafted onto.

Holder Crates extend that language to the people holding the rootstock itself. Instead of reading a wallet at one passing moment, a Crate recognises two plain forms of conviction: how much is held, and how long it stays held.

A position that has had time to take root should look like one.

The economics stay separate. Rootstock burns take $SAPLING out of supply. Roots, Harvest and holder rewards pay ZEC on planted coins. Holder Crates are their own program, paid in $SAPLING.

Sapling, briefly

How sapling.cash works.

Sapling is a memecoin launchpad on Solana built on pump.fun. Every coin planted there is a real pump.fun coin, quoted in ZEC instead of SOL. Memes with roots.

  1. Plant

One approval creates a coin on pump.fun, paired to ZEC, and registers it on Sapling. It starts as a Seed.

  2. Grow

From its 10th buy it is a Sapling, climbing pump.fun's bonding curve as buys push it up.

  3. Roots

Part of every trade's creator fee goes into the coin's roots: a pool of ZEC that belongs to that coin. Holders can burn tokens to harvest their share.

  4. Rootstock

Another part buys $SAPLING and burns it. $SAPLING itself has no roots: all of its own creator fee goes to the Sapling treasury.

  5. Orchard

When the curve completes, pump.fun moves the liquidity to a PumpSwap pool. Roots and Harvest carry on unchanged.

Where the sap goes · 2.00% creator fee on a planted coin

  • This coin's roots 0.50%
  • Rootstock ($SAPLING burn) 0.50%
  • Sapling 0.20%
  • The deployer's choice: their wallet, another wallet, or holder rewards in ZEC 0.80%

As published in the Sapling Docs on 2 Oct 2026. The split can change within the program's bounds. pump.fun takes its own protocol fee on top. $SAPLING is the exception: its creator fee goes 100% to the Sapling treasury.

Know the difference

Three things that sound alike.

Sapling already has roots, Harvest and holder rewards. Holder Crates are none of them.

Roots & Harvest

Existing · per planted coin

What it is
A pool of ZEC that belongs to one planted coin, fed by part of its creator fee. Capped at 5 ZEC per coin.
Paid in
ZEC
Your share
ZEC in the roots ÷ the coin's unburned supply, per token
What you do
Burn that coin's tokens to harvest
$SAPLING
Has no roots to harvest

Holder rewards

Existing · per planted coin

What it is
A coin's 0.80% deployer share can be sent to its holders: chosen at planting, or later by the share's payee. Permanent once set.
Paid in
ZEC
Your share
Pro rata at a random snapshot, wallets holding $20 or more
What you do
Nothing. The keeper pays in batches.

$SAPLING Holder Crates

New · $SAPLING only

What it is
A separate rewards program for wallets that hold $SAPLING
Paid in
$SAPLING, as a potential allocation
Your share
Grows with amount held and time held, shown as a tier
What you do
Hold $SAPLING, then connect to open your Crate
Burning
Not part of it. A Crate is built from holding.

Rootstock is separate again: part of every planted coin's creator fee buys $SAPLING and burns it. Burned $SAPLING is gone; it is not a Crate reward.

How Holder Crates work

From holding to opening.

  1. Hold $SAPLING

In a Solana wallet. The official mint is BZFY…B96W.

  2. Keep your position

Selling or cutting it back before a snapshot can reduce your Crate.

  3. Your Crate grows

More held adds mass. Longer held adds depth.

  4. It reaches stronger tiers

    Copper, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum.

  5. Connect your wallet

Open Your Crate reads your $SAPLING position.

  6. See your allocation

Your tier and your potential $SAPLING allocation.

FAQ

Short answers.

For everything else about Sapling, read the Docs & FAQ.

What are $SAPLING Holder Crates?

Holder Crates are a rewards program for wallets that hold $SAPLING, the token of sapling.cash. Each eligible wallet can have a Crate representing a potential $SAPLING allocation. The Crate grows with two things: how much $SAPLING the wallet holds and how long it has held it.

How do Sapling Holder Crates work?

Hold $SAPLING and keep holding. A larger position and a longer holding period both strengthen the Crate and move it toward higher tiers. Connect your wallet to see your Crate, its tier and your potential $SAPLING allocation.

Who can have a Holder Crate?

Wallets holding $SAPLING on Solana. Eligibility is decided by the Holder Crates program and shown when you connect. The official $SAPLING mint is BZFYNPeQAEW3HWQ4DNsTVahC1n4ZjTgn6jB2nnBbB96W.

Does holding more $SAPLING strengthen my Crate?

Yes. Amount held is one of the two main factors. More $SAPLING held means a stronger Crate.

Does holding $SAPLING longer matter?

Yes. Time held is the other main factor. A position kept for longer has had more time to take root, and its Crate is stronger for it.

What happens if I sell?

Selling or significantly reducing your position before the relevant snapshot can reduce your Crate. Continued holding lets it keep progressing.

What are the Holder Crate tiers?

Copper, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum, from the entry-level Crate to the deepest, longest-held positions. Higher tiers correspond to larger potential $SAPLING allocations. They are separate from Seed, Sapling and Orchard, which are the stages of a coin planted on Sapling.

How do I open my $SAPLING Holder Crate?

Select Open Your Crate and connect the Solana wallet that holds your $SAPLING. Your Crate, its tier and your potential allocation are shown after connecting. Sapling never DMs you first and never asks for your seed phrase or keys.

Are Holder Crates paid in ZEC or $SAPLING?

$SAPLING. Roots, Harvest and holder rewards on planted coins pay ZEC. Holder Crates are potential $SAPLING allocations.

Are Holder Crates the same as Sapling roots?

No. Roots are a pool of ZEC that belongs to a coin planted on Sapling, fed by part of that coin's creator fee. The roots drawn in a Crate illustrate a holder position; they are not ZEC and hold nothing. $SAPLING itself has no roots to harvest.

Are Holder Crates the same as Harvest? Do I burn $SAPLING to open my Crate?

No. Harvest lets a holder burn a planted coin's tokens to take their share of that coin's roots in ZEC. A Holder Crate is built from holding $SAPLING, not from burning it.

Are Holder Crates the same as Sapling's existing ZEC holder rewards?

No. Holder rewards are set per coin, by its deployer at planting or later by the payee of its deployer share: 0.80% of every trade of that coin, paid in ZEC to wallets holding $20 or more at random snapshots. Holder Crates are a separate $SAPLING program based on amount held and time held.

What is Sapling rootstock, and does it fund Holder Crates?

Rootstock is the part of the creator fee on every planted coin that buys $SAPLING and burns it, which takes it out of supply. Burned $SAPLING is gone. Rootstock and Holder Crates are separate: burns are not Crate rewards.

Does planting coins or trading affect my Crate?

Holder Crates are built around holding $SAPLING: how much, and for how long. Planting, trading volume, harvesting and Rootstock burns are separate Sapling mechanics.

Are Holder Crate rewards guaranteed?

No. A Crate shows a potential allocation until the program confirms it, and eligibility is decided by the program. The price of $SAPLING can change and can fall to zero. Nothing here is financial advice.

What is sapling.cash?

Sapling is a memecoin launchpad on Solana built on pump.fun. Every coin planted there is a pump.fun coin quoted in ZEC instead of SOL, with roots its holders can harvest by burning. It is not Sapling, the 2018 Zcash network upgrade.

What is ZEC on Solana?

ZEC bridged to Solana by NEAR's Omni Bridge, an ordinary SPL token. It has none of Zcash's shielded properties, and every transfer is public. Sapling moves ZEC between Zcash and Solana through NEAR Intents.

Is Sapling affiliated with Zcash or pump.fun?

No. Sapling is an independent project, not affiliated with the Zcash Foundation, Electric Coin Co., or pump.fun. It builds on pump.fun and PumpSwap, uses ZEC bridged to Solana, swaps SOL to ZEC through Jupiter and moves ZEC to and from Zcash through NEAR Intents. None of them run Holder Crates.
